Dream Sequence

Dreams Part 1 all the haunts returned last night my father in his bright polo my mother and her blue stones the long lost friend broken by the wreck everyone had a terrible cough but claimed to be well on the mend! I had forgotten the birthday cake and could not, for the life of me dial up the bakery the numbers kept slipping through my fingers like all the ghosts Dreams Part 2 I dreamt of the good exes last night there was X with his cherubic smile (those dimples!) there was X with the mischief in his eyes (but he only loved Jesus) there as an X I never met but he wanted to sit close in the back seat hold hands wishing it had all worked out Dreams Part 3 what did you dream of that night? weapons? drone warfare? ones and zeros? I dreamt of my old horse the fleabitten grey gone for 30 years but strong beneath me climbing the steep river bank with ease a waterway littered with trash the corpse of a deer hung up in branches bloated and fearsome I slipped from his back he looked back but did not stop
